Alan's Birthday Celebration Part 3, the Countdown

With the weekend celebrations with our friends for Alan's birthday, it was time to spend some couple time to countdown to his Big 30. I was quite out of surprises for him already, having unable to get the pretty cupcakes near my office, i told Alan that i wanted to go to VivoCity for dinner, with a sneaky plan to buy him a birthday cake from Bakerzin.

We have absolutely no idea what to have for dinner and just responded to the calling of Carls Jnr's beef chilli fries..

I think they know its his Birthday!

Our selection for the day:

After dinner he wanted to go to Citibank to get a transaction slip, it was my chance to buy the cakes and so excused myself to the ladies room and he didn't suspect a thing!

We headed home to rest and i was watching the time anxiously as i planned to surprise him with the cake and his present! Just about 11.40pm he needed the loo, once he was in there, i charged into the kitchen and prayed that i could put up the surprise before he came out..

Unfortunately the lady that sold me the cake taped the base of the cake to the box so that it wouldn't be smashed by the time i reached home.. It was really funny coz he walked in on me, while i was trying to yank the cake out and i just froze and looked innocently on the ground when he asked me what i was doing(i so hoped that the cake was invisible at that moment..)

It was soo comical coz the moment he saw the cake, he mouthed "Oops" and act as though he didnt see anything and went back to the room and waited patiently..

I am not convinced that i could't surprise him so after singing the birthday song, i made him wait in the room and i brought in the 2nd birthday cake at 11.55pm, i sang the Chinese version of the Birthday song. See! It pays to have backups and contigency plans!!

The 1st Cake

Yuki: I know i cant take chocolate, how about strawberry?

I made him get the forks and apple juice from the fridge, as i have placed his last surprise in the fridge..It was a Seiko watch which I had bought 2 days earlier from Bras Brasah with Se Chia. In case this dumb ass didnt see it, i wrote a note "SURPRISE" for him and heard him laugh happliy at the kitchen!

It was a happy celebration i guess..
